Instruction utilized to maximize learning and achievement: Students will be using many of the multiple intelligences in this unit: linguistic, intrapersonal, interpersonal, kinesthetic, and visual-spatial

Objectives: Students will discover characteristics of the characters in Charlotte’s Web. The will learn how to make a Voki. They will be using their creativity to develop a script and bring their character from the book to life.

Procedure:
1.)Students will use the Padlet to brainstorm characteristics (appearance, personality, role in the book, etc) about the book Charlotte’s Web. The characters on the Padlet include Wilbur, Charlotte, Fern, Templeton, and Henry Fussy.
2.)As a class, we will discuss the characteristics written on the Padlet. We will determine if there are any other important facts about a character that we did not discuss yet.

3.) The students will get in groups and pick names out of a hat in order to determine which character they will “become.”
4.) Each student will then use their character to fill out the worksheet seen below. (they can use some of the ideas we talked about in the beginning of the class)

5.) After filling out the worksheet, I will show the students an example of my Voki.

6.) I will then create one with the class so students can understand how to create their own.

7.) We will create a random character (not one from the book) in order to allow children to be creative when they create their own.
8.) I will then have the students create a Voki of their own with the character that they have.
9.) They should include the most important information they wrote on their worksheet to order to summarize who the character is.
10.)They will write a mini script and then speak as though they are the character (using first person).
11.)After the students will share their Voki's to the class
